Airline Air Finland makes a net profit of EUR 3.5 million

Air Finland�s turnover in the financial year starting on January 1, 2006, and closing on December 31, 2006, was approximately EUR 50 million. The company�s net profit amounted to record high EUR 3.5 million. The airline carried about 400,000 passengers in 2006.

�Air Finland has gained a strong position in the European airline market,� says Mika Helenius, Managing Director of Air Finland.

�Our strategy based on a very diverse range of scheduled and charter flights, combined with our people-friendly and customer-oriented service concept, has proven successful. We plan to stay on that course,� continues Helenius.

The current year has had a positive start, as demand is strong including also next winter season and the outlook for the entire year is good.

Investment company Berling Capital Ltd becomes majority owner

As a result of financing arrangements carried out by the company, the Berling Capital Group, which is owned by Esa Karppinen and his family, has become the new majority shareholder of Air Finland with a 55% stake of the company�s shares. Karppinen is also a member of Air Finland�s Board of Directors. Air Finland�s operational management retains a 45% stake in the company.
